OCTOBER 2017 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE

Hellooooo House friends!

Wednesday challenge at The House That Stamps Built is a designer's choice challenge.  Patti J is hosting it this month and her challenge is to "Count Your Blessings" (bring thankful, grateful, blessed, Thanksgiving) into your project.

Apples are one of my most favorite fruits and here in Maine it's apple season so I wanted to use this adorable stamp RI#512-H "Apple Basket" in my creation this week.

The bg was created by sponging Oxide Ink (vintage photo) through a burlap stencil.  I reverse embossed a stitched round die into the bg and then used other circle dies to frame the image after coloring it with copic markers.  (disclaimer:  I have a new camera...I haven't gotten the hang of it yet, so my cards may look a little wonky for awhile...in this case, the apples look orange and you don't see the highlights...I'm working on it).

The sentiment is RI#3214-G "Thanksgiving Blessings" (love that font).

I hope you found some inspiration here and you'll join our challenge this week.  The details can be found at THE HOUSE .

IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS

Hi there Junkies!!!!

Did you get a chance to hop along with us on Sunday and see all the awesome creations using the new October release stamps?  I hope you did and if so, did you grab the 15% discount offered on them?  You have until October 8 to purchase any or all of the new release stamps at 15%.  Just put them in your cart and the calculations are done for you.  No code to enter.  But hurry....

I'm using one of the new stamps in my post today.  It's called "Give Thanks" and what a lovely Thanksgiving card it makes.

I stamped it on kraft cs with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed it with white ep.  I then sponged some Distress Oxide Inks over it and wiped the ink off the embossing.  Before the sponged inks dried, I sprinkled water over the panel which gave it that bokah look.  I colored the image with Prisma color pencils and then accented with with my Wink of Stella clear pen.  I framed it with a die frame and orange cs that I've had forevah....Such a fun card to create.

To give you more enabling, you can purchase lots of stamps from the Technique Junkies store and get a full 10% off the whole shebang by using my personal code (the new October release is excluded).  So go shopping and have some fun.

I hope you found some inspiration here today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

OCTOBER 2017 NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP WITH TECHNIQUE JUNKIES

Hi Junkies!!!

Get ready to hop with the design team of Technique Junkies Stamps we showcase the new stamps for October 2017.   If you like these stamps and would love to get them for 15% off you can until October 8!  That's the deadline for the 15% off discount, and you don't have to do anything.  The discount is automatically applied at checkout.

If you came here from the incredibly talented Lanette Erickson's blog, you are in the right place.  You can start the hop from the beginning so you don't miss any of the talented goodness from these designers.

Here are some cards I made using the new stamps:

I'm a vintage junkie and wanted to show off this adorable stamp "Red Lipstick Day"  in a CAS way.  She was colored with watercolor brush pens and Inktense watercolor pencils on watercolor paper.

I used a combination of techniques to create this card, using "Olive Branch" .  The bg is water colored after stamping and heat embossing white ep to create a resist.  I then put the image back in the MISTI and re-stamped with a darker blue ink after moving it slightly from the original position to give a shadow effect.  The sentiment is "Merry Christmas 2".

What an awesome bg stamp this "Textured Stars" is.  It's loaded with texture and design and can be used with so many mediums.  I have lots of ideas for this stamp in the future.  For this card, I laid some Distress Oxide Inks direction on the stamp and spritzed with water.  Then taking a piece of watercolor paper I layed it over the inked stamp and set aside.  I then took a second piece of watercolor paper and without re-inking or adding any more water, I layed it over what was left on the stamp, getting a second generation image.  I loved the results.  The bg on this stamp is the first inking and the second generation is die cut raised off the first.  I used "Perspective"  silhouette stamp to accent the bg.

That's it for me today.  I hope you found some inspiration and enjoy the hop.  Now, head on over to my incredibly talented friend Kathy Stacy's blog and see her fabulous creations.

If you'd like more enabling, I have a 10% off discount code for you on all Technique Junkies Stamps (excluding the new October 2017 Stamps), just add my discount code at check out.
