DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT REPEAT IMPRESSIONS

Hellllloooo blog friends!!!!

Here we go with another challenge at The House That Stamps Built !!  It's time for a Designer's Choice Challenge and the very talented Rock Star, Karen Hasheck is challenging us all to a motion card or shaped card.

Are your creative wheels turning?  This is such a fun challenge with so many possibilities.  Check out how you can win some awesome RI stamps should you win the draw in this challenge.

I created a shaped card for this challenge by using a Sizzix die I hadn't used in years called "Butterfly" with white cs.  What an adorable card this created and I was so pleased with it. I also cut some designer papers I had in my scraps to cover the areas of the card which give it a summery feel.  The sentiment stamp I used is one of my favorites from RI, #9005-E "Flutter By".   I placed it on a heart die cut and added it to the front of the butterfly after inking around the edges.

Great challenge, Karen.

Here are the links to my Rock Star Teamies for more inspiration.  Play along with Karen and you might possibly win some great RI stamps!

PROJECT OF THE WEEK AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi everyone!

Cheri Weston here with a new POTW for The House That Stamps Built.

This is going to be an easy one because it's almost summer and there's plenty of things to do outside with family and friends, which is where many of us want to be on warm summer days!  Card creating is fun and rewarding, but there's nothing wrong with learning ways to create quick and easy cards....right????  Right!!!!

My project this week is using paint chips!  The ones you can pick up for FREE at any hardware store that sells paint.  These are treasure for crafters and did I mention...they're FREE!  Pair them with your dies or punches and see what you can come up with!

Here's what I started with

Here's what I ended with

Stamp #1102-E "Congratulations".  Using any adhesive, cover a piece of cs the width you'd like.  Assemble your punched or die pieces on the adhesive in the order you like.  Adhere the entire piece to your card base.  Add a sentiment and you're done!

This next card used many, many RI stamps - I stamped the face of each circle with a different stamp in VersaMark ink.  The sentiment is RI#1113-D "Birthday".  I would have tossed this card because I made a mistake....big mistake, but found a way to "roll with it" and it didn't come out too bad.  The mistake was when I stamped the "Happy" in the upper left corner, my plan was to stamp it again, just off set and over toward the right....however, I had the stamp upside down and ended up with a big booboo!  It took me a minute to figure out a way that I could use it, and thought of stamping multiple "happy's" in various orientations to make it look like it was "on purpose".  LOL.  See, you can recover from mistakes.  It's probably not the best card, but it sure gets the "HAPPY" going!

Finally, for my third  card, I used a portion of a sentiment from the new "Wine Time" stamp set, #9509-F "Cheers".  I covered the lower portion of the stamp with scotch tape, inked up the word "Cheers", removed the scotch tape and stamped.  I also used RI #1504-O "Grapevine Border, which I colored with Copic Markers.

Check out Pinterest for even more ideas on how to use paint chips then head to the hardware store and pick up some free fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a GREAT week!!!
