A Little Mixed Media

Hello everyone!
There's another super fun challenge over at StampTV for Mix It Up Monday.  Vicki Dutcher is challenging us to create a project using Art/Mixed media technique.

I've always liked playing with different techniques in my card making however, mixed media has been one of those "intimidating" techniques - I never know when there's too much or not enough on the canvas.  So, when I saw Vicki's challenge I knew I had to give this technique another try.

For this card I used ink/media directly on the paper.  The Gina K Pure Luxury Kraft card stock really stood up to this technique and all the layers of ink I put on it.  My background was created using an assortment of Adirondack Acrylic Paint Daubers in Lights, Brights and Earthtones.  I used a brush in some of the areas yet in others I used the dauber sponge top.  Once the bg was created, I began stamping.  The word paragraph was inked with ColorBox Pigment Frost White then dried.  I stamped some branches and leaves in DI Walnut Stain and then used Creative Inspirations "Winter Frost" paint to give them  the "frosty fog" look.  I used the same paint to create the moon.  I love the way it came out.  I embossed a piece of leftover sheet of copper with my CB folder, then pounced some of my favorite Alcohol Inks on it then punched out a butterfly with a MS punch.   I edged the whole canvas with DI Black Soot and added a strip of TH Tissue Tape to the folded edge.
Stamps used:  "Hope Grows" (the branches and leaves), "The Giving Tree"  (the tree and the sentiment) by Theresa Momber and "Vintage Backgrounds" (the word paragraph), by Nina Brackett.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
