Stamp TV CHA Envy Color Challenge

We all can't be at the Craft and Hobby Association summer show in Chicago this week, so a few of the DT members over at StampTV have created some challenges so the rest of us can have some fun and maybe win some great GKD stamp sets.  The deadline for the challenges is July 31, 2010 at 7:00 CST.  Have some fun and play along, if you can.

This is my card for Lee's color challenge, using black and yellow as the primary colors.

Using a Cuttlebug folder, I created the background on GKD PL White CS, then I sponged Distress Ink (Mustard Seed) on the embossing.  I used the Spellbinder Nested Pointsettias to create the "flower".  The DP is from Basic Grey Origins Paper Pad, the middle layer is GKD Black Onyx, the center flower is GKD Wild Dandelion and on that I use the "sand" stamp from Melanie Muenchinger's "Gifts From the Sea" set in Memento Tuxedo Black giving it a speckled effect which I really liked.  The sentiment was from Gina K's set "Friends are Forever".  It's all layered on GKD White and the card base is Black Onyx.    The ribbon is some from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Bright Birthday Flowers

Hi there,

I am submitting this card for Joan's Gardens #7 Challenge.  It's also a card I made for a StampTV inspiration challenge  a few weeks ago.

The CS is GKD Pure Luxury weight.  The stamps are from the set "A Year of Flowers" by Melanie Muenchinger.  DP is Graphic 45.

Thanks for peeking in.
