Hummingbird Happy

Hi all you heat beaters out there!  Where are you getting cooled off?  Aren't these temps something else?  (I'll take this weather though, last year we had mega rain and everything was soggy, musty and moldy).  Thank goodness for A/C, that's all I can say.

I wanted to post a quick card I made last week.  If you've been to the StampTV gallery, or to my StampTV page, you may have seen it, but if you haven't been over there, I'll show it to you here.  This was easy-peasy at it's best because the background is dp and it's already there - I just stamped the hummingbird on some coordinating dp and cut him/her out, popped him/her up with popdots, added a sentiment and some ribbon and voila!

CS is GKD Pure Luxury White and Chocolate Kiss.  DP is Memorybox Gossamer.  Stamps are GKD "Hugs and Prayers" by Nina Brackett.

Thanks for peeking in!  Stay cool!  (or warm, if you're my friend, Hazel, in Australia)

Rainbows

Hi there!

I have to show you the beautiful double rainbow that appeared over our barn on Saturday.   We had had rain on and off all day, with lots of clouds and grey skies.  In the evening, the sky cleared and the sun was laying some of the most gorgeous golds around our fields and on the big lily garden we have in the front of the house, so I grabbed my camera and went outside to capture some of that gorgeousness.  The sunset was SPECTACULAR.  Here's what I captured:

That's some of our little corner of the world.

Lady Framed

Greetings,

I made this card for Joan's Garden challenge #5 this week.  Joan wanted us to frame our focal image and use Graphic 45 papers somewhere on our project.  This is my card for Joan's challenge.

First, let me say I absolutely LOVE Graphic 45 papers and have been known to covet them - I just can't bear to cut into them.  (do you do that with some papers?)  Anyway, I wanted to play in Joan's challenge #5  so I had to cut some.  :-(    You can purchase these papers and more lines of Graphic 45 papers from Joan Fricker at her blog site.

I used Gina K Design Pure Luxury Ivory card stock for the base of my card and Red Lipstick for the red layer.  The Graphic 45 papers were from the Domestic Goddess collection.  My stamped image is Gina K Design from the stamp set "Sew Pretty", designed by Asela Hopkins. I used Nestabilities Petite Ovals for the frame.  The image was colored with Copic markers and I die cut and distressed the flower out of the same Graphic 45 paper.  The purse and belt are accented with Sakura black glaze pen; the buckle and purse edge was accented with Sakura Gelly Roll clear pen.  The gloves were accented with Inkssentials opaque white pen.  I also used Distress Inks around the edges.

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a great day!
